This post has been sponsored by Halfords.
Now that the boys have mastered cycling they are wanting to ride further afield, take on new challenges and really stretch themselves. I love that they are happy to spend so much time outdoors, getting exercise, riding their bikes, as well as having fun. And this summer has just been perfect weather-wise so far, so we are looking into longer rides and family days out to enjoy this summer.

PENGUINPIG in Gateshead - Keeping our Children Safe Online (AD)

When I was a child I remember not having mobile phones, email, internet or social media. Like many of us, these were things we and our parents didn’t have to worry about. However, times change and technology has moved on. Now we have all kinds of information at our fingertips. And for those of us whose children have access to electronic devices, they too have lots of information at their fingertips. Internet safety has become as important a topic to teach our children as the Green Cross Code.

So as parents how do we ensure our children are safe online? It’s the subject of a live puppet show coming to Gateshead next month so ahead of seeing this performance next month I’ve been speaking to some parents about their thoughts and tips regarding e-safety.

Exploring Barter Books in Alnwick, Northumberland

A few weeks ago we were enjoying a staycation in Northumberland just a few miles from Alnwick so we took a trip to Barter Books as we headed further into England’s northernmost county before heading home. My eldest was so captivated by the bookstore that he spent his own money on buying a hardback copy of a J.R.R. Tolkien novel.

A Family Day Out at Space Golf, Newcastle – All You Need To Know (REVIEW)

Adventure golf has come to Newcastle. In the former Co-op Department Store building on Newgate Street, in Newcastle City Centre, sandwiched between Zaap Thai and the Premier Inn, you’ll find Mr Mulligan’s Space Golf.

I’m going to be honest when I first heard’ Space Golf’ I really didn’t know what to expect. But after meeting up with Adventure Leisure in the autumn, and hearing about their plans for adventure golf in the city, I knew it would be something my boys would love. So when we were asked to go along and review the first Space Golf after it opened during half-term in Newcastle, my boys didn’t need asking twice.
