7 Things to do this Month - March

Snowmageddon and the Beast from the East wasn't the start I was expecting for the month of March, and of course Springtime here in the UK. But it did turn our local park into a ski resort for a few days and we all remembered just how much fun sledging is, if not the road and traffic chaos that comes with so much snow.

Anyway, the snow seems to be on the way out and now we can look forward to the month of March with St Patrick's Day and also this year Maunday Thursday and Good Friday.

7 Things to do this Month - March

Whether you are looking to go out or stay in here are seven fab things to do this month.

Go to the theatre...

The Cultural Spring brings more children’s theatre to South Tyneside this month with the first of four news shows aimed at getting more people to experience and be inspired by the arts. Wee Red and Her Wolf, a tale inspired by Little Red Riding Hood, suitable for children aged 7 and over, will be able to be seen in five community venues including Jarrow Hall and The Customs House. We are going next weekend and I can't wait.

Bake Easter Biscuits ...

With Easter being so early this year it's time to get making Easter biscuits. If you're one of those people who doesn't like chocolate; can't eat chocolate, or just wants something a little different at Easter, then these buttery, lemon and fruit biscuits are easy to make and take very little time. The perfect recipe for an alternative to chocolate eggs and Easter bunnies.

Go on a Family Walk ...

The north east coastline just has so many places that are perfect for a family beach walk including Durham Heritage Coast, South Shields, Tynemouth, Seaton Sluice, Druridge Bay, Craster, Low Newton and Bamburgh which all my our favourite coastal walks in the North East.

Book a Staycation ...

The north east is a great place to stay and with Rough Guide naming it as the place to be in 2018 and the forthcoming Great Exhibition of the North check out our reviews of Sleeperz Hotel in Newcastle, Radisson Blu in Durham and a luxurious lodge in Northumberland.

Build Big Ben ...

The 3D Jigsaw Puzzle from Ravensburger uses the latest 3D click technology to create a stunning 3D model of London's Big Ben. It also uses unique hinged plastic pieces, which slot together to build a sturdy and strong building meaning no glue is required at all to build a stunning replica of Big Ben. Once finished it is 41 cm high and it is also actually a clock. You can watch us build it here too.

Win Coffee and Face Paints ...

This month on the blog you can win a months supply of coffee, your choice of Coffee & Kin coffee beans or sustainable coffee pods, of coffee roasted on Holy Island of the Northumberland Coast, or you can win 2 packets of the new Snazaroo Brush Pen Face Paint packs - face painting has never been so easy!

Play Golf in Space ...

This month a new adventure golf venue opened in Newcastle, Mr Mulligans Space Golf. For adventure golf, think crazy golf, but indoors, creatively designed and lots of fun. It’s a central location, easily accessible by public transport as well as close to main car parks. It’s indoors which means it a great rainy day activity. It is fun for all the family as well as having a late night bar to cater for groups of adults too.

I do hope you enjoy March, let me know what you get up to.

  1. What a fab of looking forward to the month ahead. We have that Big Ben and loved building it. We've started the month off well by having a rare visit to the cinema x
