We don’t have a coffee machine but we do have a coffee grinder and cafetiere and we have been trying out the coffee beans. I love the smell of coffee and there really is nothing better than the fresh smell of coffee wafting through the house. It tastes good too!

Coffee & Kin

Coffee & Kin is all about people and their love of great coffee. And their speciality coffee is all about quality and taste.

Ethically Sourced Coffee

Coffee & Kin is single-origin coffee which is ethically sourced from 100% speciality Arabica beans. All of its coffee is also 100% traceable, from small coffee farms worldwide, to ensure that each stage of the growing and sales process is fair as well as socially and environmentally sustainable. Two billion cups of coffee are drunk around the world every day and 25 million families rely on growing coffee for a living. Coffee & Kin aim to give customers great tasting speciality coffee at an affordable price but also want to ensure the farmer is getting a fair price too.

Our beans were grown by the Baraona Family, we know because it's written on the packet.

Environmentally Friendly Coffee Pods

Made to be compatible with Nespresso machines, you don’t need to worry about the damaging effect of pods on the environment as these coffee pods are 100% compostable so you’re not only drinking delicious coffee; you’re also doing your bit for the environment too. One in 10 Britons polled by Harris Interactive for The Grocer, a supermarket trade magazine, said that they believed "coffee pods are very bad for the environment." At the same time, 22% of those asked said they owned a machine.

Fast, efficient, and relatively cheap, coffee pods make up one-third of the Western European coffee market but most are not recyclable. Although Nespresso's coffee pods are made from aluminium, they can't be recycled by conventional methods because the collection facilities are not equipped to deal with items that small.

The Coffee & Kin Foundation

At the heart of Coffee & Kin is the desire to help those in need and give back to the community. They have a Coffee & Kin Foundation to provide support to people and organisations in the communities where the coffee is grown. For every pod they sell, they’ll put 1p into the foundation. For every bag of beans, it’s 10p. The aim is to offer grants for the relief of hardship, poverty, suffering and inequality and this will be achieved through education and vocational training, medical treatment and healthcare, personal development and employment. They also hope the fund will be able to offer capital grants to build, renovate and maintain schools, children’s homes, community centres and environmental projects within the community.
